We all look forward to the season but if you’re hosting a holiday gathering keeping it together is no easy feat: between creating a menu, cooking, cleaning, and shopping, it’s no wonder we feel a bit stressed out. However, with just a little planning and ingenuity hosting your perfect holiday gathering can be easier than you think.

Entertaining expert and cookbook author, Brooke Parkhurst, with share some of her party—prep secrets. She’s pulled together her best tips and advice- from what to serve quick kitchen fixes, you’ll have everything you need to keep your spirits bright this holiday season!

SOME OF HER TIPS INCLUDE:
Don’t overthink the drink: Fill pitchers with a premade drink like a rum punch or a signature cocktail and keep a selection of wines and beer on hand to avoid the hassle of mixing individual cocktails.
Make It or Buy It? Know your strengths in the kitchen. If your secret family turkey and stuffing recipe is your specialty go ahead and buy the sides. Or if baking isn’t your forte then leave it to the pros.
Whipped Cream to the Rescue: Just about any baking disaster can be “righted” with whipped cream. Top pie crust burned? Trim of the burned portion and top it off with a mound of whipped cream. Sweet potato casserole too dry? Remove the crusty upper layer and pile high with whipped cream.
Double Duty: Save time by cooking up something that can double as a finger food AND an entrée ingredient. Or create edible centerpieces from seasonal fruits and veggies, fresh greenery and berries.
Check off your list: All this party-prep leaving you short on time to shop for gifts? Gift cards are convenient for both giver and receiver. Add an individualized touch with creative wrapping.
