D-I-Y Valentine’ Day Treat Ideas from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream

Bruster’s Real Ice Cream has some sweet ideas for letting someone special know how much you care on Valentine’s Day. Here are home versions of two popular treats that are fun and easy to make, especially with kids.

SWEETHEART SUNDAE
Suggested ice cream: Chocolate Raspberry Truffle

What you’ll need:
Bowl or large dish – our experts suggest a heart-shaped dish from a local retailer
Ice cream
Flavored topping sauce or sauces
Whipped cream
Valentine-themed sprinkles
Heart-shaped cookie (optional)
2 spoons

1. Place 3 scoops of ice cream in the bowl or dish
2. Cover each scoop with 1 oz. of flavored topping sauce
3. Create a mound of whipped cream approximately 3 inches tall on top of the ice cream and sauce
4. Scatter 2 teaspoons of Valentine-themed sprinkles over the whipped cream
5. Top with a Valentine cookie (optional)
6. Serve with 2 spoons

HOT FUDGE BROWNIE SUNDAE
Suggested ice cream – Chocolate Mudslide

What you’ll need:
Bowl or dish
1 brownie
Ice cream
Hot fudge topping, warmed according to the label
Whipped cream
2 maraschino cherries
2 spoons

1. Place brownie in the bowl or dish
2. Add 2 scoops of ice cream
3. Pour 3 oz. of warmed hot fudge sauce around the ice cream
4. Create a mound of whipped cream approximately 3 inches tall on top of the ice cream and sauce
5. Place cherries on top of whipped cream
6. Serve with 2 spoons
