National Healthy Vision Month with Dr. Steven Klein

May has been designated National Healthy Vision Month as an important reminder that millions of people living in the United States have undetected vision problems, eye diseases, and serious conditions that could have been prevented—especially if precautions had been taken at a young age. When it comes to dangerous UV rays, it’s important to know that children often don’t have as much protection for their eyes as adults; therefore, many children suffer from UV damage, because they don’t really wear sunglasses or change from their regular glasses to sunglasses.

Steve Klein, OD., one of the nation’s top therapeutic optometrists, will share important information about the importance of protecting the eyes of children, and adults, ahead of the sunny summer months. He will also discuss the potential problems that can be avoided with early prevention. Dr. Klein is teaming up with ZEISS Vision to stress the importance of protecting the eyes and skin around the eyes, and to discuss a NEW breakthrough eyeglass technology that filters out dangerous UV rays, even with clear, non-tinted lenses. ZEISS is so committed to vision safety that the company has even declined to patent this technology in an effort to help more people.

IMPORTANT TOPICS DR. KLEIN CAN DISCUSS, INCLUDE:
VISION DECISION: Understanding when parents should take their kids to an Optometrist
CLEAR SAFETY: Data shows that most UV damage is done before the age of 18
EYE QUESTIONS: What parents should ask their eyecare professionals
BUDGET EYES: Where to find budget-friendly alternatives the entire family will want to wear
PREVENTING SKIN CANCER: How skin around the eyes can be susceptible to skin cancer
