Women & Small Business Aflac Happiness Survey

The 2018 Aflac Small Business Happiness Report shows that 91% of respondents are satisfied working for a small business. However, the survey also found employees believe small business could do more to improve benefits.

“Shark Tank” co-host and entrepreneur Barbara Corcoran teams up with Catherine Hernandez-Blades of Aflac to examine some important ways that small businesses—especially businesses owned by women—and consumers can stretch their dollars and stay competitive in the marketplace. They’ll also share information about new Aflac small-business solutions designed to help ease the burden of benefits administrators.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE AFLAC SMALL BUSINESS HAPPINESS REPORT:
INSURANCE—27% of employees would like more affordable health care coverage
FINANCES—55% think the greatest challenge when working at a small business is financial (related to salary and health care expenses)
HAPPINESS—87% think working at a small business is more fun than a large business

Corcoran’s entrepreneurial skills are legendary, as she turned a $1,000 loan into a real estate empire worth billions. In 2001, the real estate mogul sold her real estate company for $70 million. As one of the “Sharks” on the hit TV show “Shark Tank,” Barbara has invested in 22 businesses, competing to make those deals for all to see, then shepherding them to success.

Hernandez-Blades is SVP, chief brand and communications officer at Aflac, a company which has made the Ethisphere list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies list 12 times and counting.

Together, they discuss important tips for female-owned small businesses.
