Medhab CEO Johnny Ross Introduces Us to the MyNotifi System

The number of Americans ages 65 and older is projected to more than double from 46 million today to over 98 million by 2060. In light of this, it’s more important than ever that aging Americans take steps to make sure they stay safe as they get older.

Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries among older Americans. In fact, one in four seniors fall each year and every 20 minutes an older adult dies from a fall. For most people, the very first indication that they’re at risk of falling is actually falling.

Johnny Ross, CEO of Medhab, a device company specializing in the development and delivery of wearable devices employing remote technology, provides the latest health tips and tools for aging Americans.

Some of his tips include:
GET MOVING: Exercising is one of the best things you can do for your overall health. That’s even more true as you age, because the right exercises can strengthen your body and help prevent injury-causing falls.
ADJUST LIGHTING: Use nightlights or motion-sensitive lighting to make it easier to see when you get up during the night. Install them in your bedroom, hallway, and bathroom, or wherever your midnight wandering might take you.
USE CHAIRS & STEPSTOOLS: Put a chair in your shower and install a handheld showerhead. Showering while seated can minimize one of the highest fall risks of all: slipping on a wet surface. Get a good step ladder for high shelves.
INVEST: Look into a fall-detection and exercise wearable technology. MyNotifi is a device that you wear on your wrist or your belt. It connects wirelessly to your smartphone, and automatically detects if you’ve had a fall.
