US tourism numbers to London are projected to rise sharply by 2025 as new data from Google reveals the UK capital is the most searched for global destination for city and short breaks1.

It comes as the Mayor of London and visitlondon.com launch London’s Autumn Season of Culture featuring the London debut of Hamilton, The Musical as one of the key draws.

Its creator Lin-Manuel Miranda features in a new film promoting the season which shines a spotlight on the hundreds of concerts, theatre shows, festivals and exhibitions taking place across London this fall.

Each year, the city celebrates its arts and culture attractions and this year’s Autumn Season was launched by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan at an event at the Natural History Museum.

The season which runs throughout the fall features hundreds of concerts, theatre shows, festivals and exhibitions taking place across the capital including:
· Hamilton: An American Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London’s famous West End.
· Diana: Her Fashion Story at Kensington Palace
· NFL returns to London for four games at Wembley and Twickenham in September and October
· Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone exhibition at The British Library
· Concerts by John Legend and Lady Gaga at London’s O2 Arena
· The MTV European Music Awards in November

According to Google, London leads worldwide searches for city and short breaks ahead of Barcelona, Rome, Paris and Amsterdam. London also tops Google’s search rankings for global cities to fly to.
