She Came to America and Changed Hundreds of Lives

What was meant to be a two-year stay became a lifetime of making a difference. ❤️ After immigrating to the United States, psychologist Maritza Morelli found more than a new home—she found a calling.

While working in the school system, Morelli saw many Latino children and families struggling to navigate language barriers and adjust to a new culture. She realized that success in the classroom often depends on having the right support beyond the classroom, inspiring her to take action.

That vision led to the creation of Los Niños Primero, an organization dedicated to helping Latino children and families thrive through education, family engagement, and community support. What began with just 17 children has grown into a program serving more than 700 students over the past 26 years. 📚✨

Morelli’s story is a powerful reminder that one person’s compassion can spark lasting change, opening doors and creating brighter futures for generations of children and families.
