The Sweet Way History Comes to Life

History isn’t just something you read—it’s something you can experience. 🇺🇸🍫 As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, Mars Chocolate historian Dave Borghesani is helping shine a spotlight on the people who make our nation’s stories unforgettable through the new History Tellers Award.

Presented by American Heritage Chocolate and Mars, the award honors museum interpreters, educators, and guides who inspire visitors every day. This year’s recipient, Marcus Smith of the Du Bois Freedom Center in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, is being recognized for bringing the life and legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois to audiences through engaging tours, educational programs, and community events.

Borghesani also shares how American Heritage Chocolate—crafted from authentic 1700s recipes—has supported history education and preservation for more than two decades, encouraging families to explore museums and historic sites across the country.
