BASEBALL AND HOT DOG HISTORY WITH JOEY CHESTNUT

Nine-Time World Hot Dog Eating Champion Joey Chestnut on Baseball and Hot Dog History

A Fun look at the Traditions that make Nathan’s Famous the Perfect Choice for the Official Hot Dog of America’s Pastime!

In 1893, sausages became standard fare at baseball parks. This tradition is believed to have been started by a St. Louis bar Owner, Chris Von de Ahe, a German Immigrant who also owned the St. Louis Browns major league baseball team. Fast forward a few years, and it was 101 years ago that Nathan’s Famous sold their first hot dogs on the boardwalk in Coney Island. That’s a lot of history.

On April 28th, just as the baseball season is warming up, we have one of the champions of another great sport to talk baseball, hot dogs and the traditions that make them both special.

There are few champions in any sport who can claim nine championships, with eight of them in consecutive years. Last July 4th, this hot dog eating superstar smashed his previous record by eating 70 hot dogs and buns in an amazing display of gastronomical greatness! We’re proud to have Joey “JAWS” Chestnut live from St. Louis to discuss the challenges of setting a new Guinness World Record, and he’ll talk a little hot dog and baseball history. You’ll learn how Nathan’s Famous is now the official hot dog of America’s Pastime, and what this ‘FAMOUS’ brand is doing to celebrate.

SOME FUN THINGS YOU WILL LEARN FROM THE NINE-TIME WORLD CHAMPION:
* Discover why hot dogs have become synonymous with enjoying baseball
* Fun B-roll of Joey winning his ninth championship and setting the record
* How fans can win prizes and free trips to the MLB All-Star Game in Miami
